If the phone rings, vibrates, enumerates normally or otherwise proves OS boot, a black screen becomes a display-path problem rather than a no-boot assumption.

03 — MIPI DSI + FPC + PANEL ISOLATION

Voltage alone cannot prove the video path

Use high-speed line symmetry, connector integrity and known-good panel isolation without assuming one open reading identifies the failed part.

Clock + data differential pairs

Compare P/N pairs and all active lanes against exact-model known-good readings. An open or strong mismatch supports connector, common-mode choke/filter, trace, flex or panel-path investigation.

Separate power from signaling

Identify power/ground, reset, panel-ID, MIPI, touch bus and interrupt domains. Check ground continuity and physical socket condition before active-IC conclusions.

Use replacement as an isolation test

A verified compatible known-good screen is powerful evidence. If the fault follows the original panel, panel probability rises; if it remains, continue board-side power/reset/data diagnostics.

A temporary bias pulse, or absence of one, is not sufficient by itself to declare “panel dead” or “board dead.”

Combine line state with functional evidence

One diode or voltage reading narrows the branch; it does not certify the entire motherboard or panel.

06 — SOURCE RULES CORRECTED

Do not convert a clue into a destructive repair

Several V2 source rules are intentionally downgraded to hypotheses.

NORMAL RAILS ≠ 100% BOARD OK

Passing checkpoints reduces suspicion

Normal power, reset and touch-bus values do not prove every high-speed trace, connector contact, AP interface or intermittent fault is healthy.

MIPI OPEN ≠ AUTO BRIDGE

Find where the line is open

Inspect FPC, common-mode component, trace and panel side. Do not bridge or bypass a filter without identifying its topology and confirming the failed element.

GREEN / WHITE ≠ ONE FLEX TRACE

Known-good panel comes first

Color/white-screen faults can be panel, connector, bias, reset or MIPI-related. Isolate before flex micro-jumper work.

BIAS 0V ≠ DISPLAY PMIC

Check enable, load and panel

Missing bias can result from no enable, shorted load, panel fault, broken inductor/diode, PMIC input issue or controller failure.

TOUCH INT 0V ≠ TVS

Identify the clamp

A clamped interrupt line can be caused by the panel, ESD device, trace, connector or controller. Isolate the load before removing parts.

NO BACKLIGHT ≠ DRIVER IC

Trace boost point-by-point

Verify image under torch, input, enable/PWM, coil/diode/output and LED load before backlight-driver replacement.
