03 — MIPI CSI-2 / OIS / MODULE ISOLATION

Do not let one static reading name the failed part

Use module substitution, dynamic rails, pair symmetry and active-state evidence together.

MIPI CSI-2

Clock + differential data lanes

Compare all active P/N pairs against exact-model known-good readings. A mismatch/open supports connector, choke/filter, trace, module flex or sensor-path investigation. Do not bypass a filter before identifying its topology and failure.

OIS / VCM

Power + control + Hall feedback

Violent shaking can come from module mechanics, Hall feedback, actuator power or control instability. Known-good module substitution is safer evidence than using an external magnet as a diagnostic method.

KNOWN-GOOD CAMERA

Isolation, not absolute board proof

If a verified compatible known-good module has the same failure, board-side probability rises—but connector, software state, shared bus and multiple-camera interlock still need consideration.

Board probability rises

It does not prove “100% logic-board fault.” Shared bus, connector, software, calibration or multiple-module conditions may remain.

OIS SHAKING

No magnet trick

External magnets can alter actuator behavior but are not a reliable or recommended fault-isolation method. Use module substitution and rail/control evidence.

MIPI OPEN

No automatic choke bridge

Locate the exact open component or trace. Do not bridge common-mode or EMI components without confirming the circuit topology.

LOW GR

Not automatically PMU leakage

Compare with module disconnected and exact-model known-good values before identifying the load or regulator.

TORCH GREY

Not automatically flash driver

Camera state, thermal/NTC, LED flex, power boost and software interlocks can all disable the torch.

PASSING STATIC READING

Not proof of full integrity

High-speed, intermittent, connector and state-dependent camera faults can survive a normal diode/voltage check.
