Charging and display first-line diagnosis

Turn two common complaints into non-destructive fault trees.

100% FreeQuiz: 3 questionsPractice required for self-completion

What to understand

“Not charging” may involve cable, adapter, USB-C connector, charging negotiation, battery protection, thermistor, charging IC or system power. A symptom does not isolate a specific IC.

“No display” requires separating no-power, no-backlight, image absence and touch failure. Ask whether the phone vibrates, rings, enumerates on USB or shows a faint image.

Start with external substitutions and visual checks, then measurements with known references; do not begin by replacing ICs.

Safe practical workflow

  1. For charging, list safe external checks: known-good adapter/cable, port inspection and temperature history.
  2. For display, record response to sound, vibration, USB and flashlight observation where applicable.
  3. Choose the next test and justify it from a symptom/evidence table.
  4. Fill in the printable bench-case worksheet with unknowns explicitly marked.

हिंदी में मुख्य बात

Charging और display में fault कई जगह हो सकता है। पहले cable, connector, power और symptoms जाँचें; बिना evidence IC न बदलें।

Your practical assignment

Document one charging and one display fault tree, each including at least three alternative hypotheses.

Use the AIFlasher bench worksheet for measured values, observations, unknowns and next tests. A simulated case is acceptable if you do not have the instrument yet.
